华侨大学创办于1960年,直属中央统战部(国务院侨务办公室)领导,是中国第一所以“华侨”命名的高等学府。1983年被确定为“国家重点扶植大学”;2003年在教育部首批本科教学工作水平评估中获评优秀等级;2018年入选福建省“双一流”建设高校。
华侨大学在中国福建省泉州市和厦门市分别设有校区,是中国境内最早招收海外学生的大学之一。学校现有全日制在校生35000余人,其中有来自港澳台地区和100多个国家的学生8000余人。建校63年来,学校为海内外培养各类优秀人才20多万名,其中海外校友6万余人。
一、陈嘉庚奖学金简介
陈嘉庚奖学金是由厦门市陈嘉庚教育基金会设立,旨在深入贯彻落实习近平总书记给集美校友总会回信精神,更好地宣传“华侨旗帜、民族光辉”陈嘉庚先生的丰功伟业,传承和弘扬嘉庚精神,吸引和鼓励更多优秀华侨华人后裔来厦门学习深造。
奖学金的资金来源以集美学校委员会香港集友银行股息收益金为主,主要用于资助“海上丝绸之路”沿线国家的华侨华人后裔学生来厦门就读学习。
二、申请条件
1.拥护“一个中国”,对祖(籍)国友好,身体健康的“海上丝绸之路”沿线国家华侨华人后裔。
2.遵守法律法规,符合我校入学条件。
3.高中及以上学历,年龄原则上不超过22岁(截止2024年9月1日前)。
三、奖学金资助名额及标准
1.资助名额
(1)语言进修生(一年制):15名。
(2)本科生:10名。
最终资助名额均以陈嘉庚奖学金工作领导小组根据实际申请情况审批确定为准。
2.资助金额(币值单位:人民币)
语言进修生:3万元/人/学年(资助年限为1年)。
本科生:5万元/人/学年(资助年限为4-5年)。
备注:奖学金的资助年限原则上不超过所就读相关学历层次的正常学制年限。

2024年3月1日至5月10日。
五、申请程序
登录华侨大学境外学生本科报名系统:http://admissions.hqu.edu.cn/,填写基本信息,上传报名材料,招生专业请查看附件1。
注:1.申请者须在申请我校相关专业并被录取后,才能参与奖学金评选。
2.申请者需对所提交材料的真实性和完整性负责,申请资料不实或缺漏的,我校不予受理。
六、申请材料
1.《陈嘉庚奖学金申请表》(附件2,须申请者本人签名后上传)。
2.护照(有效期须超过2025年10月1日)。
3.经公证的中文或英文最后学历学位证书和成绩单:中英文以外的文本需附经公证的中文或英文译文。
4.申请人的中文语言水平要求:
(1)语言进修生申请者不做要求;
(2)本科生申请者汉语水平考试(HSK)原则上需达5级或以上(马来西亚华文独中高中毕业生免于提供)。
5.毕业学校鉴定书或推荐信1份,请用中文或英文书写。
6.华人华侨后裔证明(附件3)。
由所在国家华人社团或较有影响的华人出具申请人为华人后裔的证明函。
7.来华学习计划:提供不少于800字的学习计划。
8.外国人体格检查记录表(附件4)。
七、奖学金评选与管理
1.奖学金的评审实行公开、公平、公正、择优的原则。我校将综合申请者的学业成绩、语言水平、学术能力、推荐情况和综合素质等方面,择优遴选我校的奖学金候选人,并提交至陈嘉庚奖学金工作领导小组进行集中评审。
奖学金结果预计将于7月审批确认。我校录取名单将在我校招生网站上公布。
2.凡被我校录取者,均发放《华侨大学录取通知书》及《外国留学人员来华确认表》(JW202表)。新生应凭此前往中国驻当地使领馆申办X1学习签证后,按我校规定的新生开学时间准时到校注册。无故逾期两周不到校报到者按自动失去入学资格处理。入学后,由学校组织进行身体检查,检查结果合格者,方能正式获得入学资格。
3.申请人已获得其他类型的新生奖助学金的,不再享受陈嘉庚奖学金的资助。本奖学金优先用于支付学费、住宿费等支出,其余作为生活费按月发放。
学生入学后,我校将对奖学金获得者进行年度考核,按照陈嘉庚教育基金会制定章程及《华侨大学陈嘉庚奖学金管理细则》及学校相关制度进行管理,符合条件的可继续享受下一学年的奖学金,否则将取消其资格。
奖学金获得者来厦门学习后原则上不得变更学校、专业或延长学习期限。如有特殊情况确需变更专业、转学和延长学习期限,须向基金会提出申请,经批准后方可变更、转学或延长学习期限。未经批准而自行变更专业、转学或延长学习期限及中途退学、休学者予以取消奖学金资格。

Application Guide for Tan Kah Kee Scholarship,
Huaqiao University 2024
(For Bachelor’ Degree Programs and One-Academic-Year Chinese Language Program)
Huaqiao University (HQU), founded in 1960, is a university directly under the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee (Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council). It is also one of China’s first universities named after "huaqiao". In 1983, HQU became one of the universities that received priority support from the country. In 2003, HQU was qualified as "Excellent" by the Ministry of Education in its first Undergraduate Teaching Performance Assessment. In 2018, HQU was listed under Fujian’s Double First Class Initiative to be built into a world-class university with first-class disciplines.
HQU is one of the first Chinese universities that enroll overseas students. It encompasses two campuses located in Quanzhou and Xiamen respectively. Currently HQU has more than 35,000 full-time students, among whom more than 8,000 are from the regions of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, as well as over 100 countries worldwide. HQU has cultivated over 200,000 students of all levels since its establishment, among whom over 60,000 alumni are distributed in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and other countries or regions overseas.
I. Introduction to Tan Kah Kee Scholarship
Tan Kah Kee Scholarship was set up by Xiamen Tan Kah Kee Education Foundation to further implement the spirit of the letter of Correspondence of General Secretary Xi Jinping to Jimei Alumni Association. The scholarship aims to better promote the spirit of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the Flag of Overseas Chinese and the Glory of the Nation, as well as attract more outstanding ethnic Chinese to study in Xiamen.
The scholarship mainly comes from the dividend yield from Hong Kong Chiyu Banking Corporation Limited of Jimei Schools Committee to support the ethnic Chinese from the countries of "Maritime Silk Road" to pursue their studies in Xiamen.
II. Eligibility
1. Applicants should be ethnic Chinese in good health from the countries of "Maritime Silk Road" and be friendly to China, adhering to the "One China Principle".
2. Applicants should abide by the laws and regulations of Chinese government and meet the admission requirements of HQU.
3. Applicants should hold a senior high school diploma or above and be under the age of 22 (as of Sept 1st, 2024).
III. Scholarship Coverage and Quota
1. Scholarships Quota
(1) 10 for bachelor's degree programs.
(2) 15 for one-academic-year Chinese language program.
Note: Final quota will be determined by Xiamen Tan Kah Kee Scholarships Committee.
2. Scholarship Coverage
For one-academic-year Chinese language program: RMB 30,000 per year for 1 year.
For bachelor’s degree programs: RMB 50,000 per year for 4-5 years.
Note: In principle, the duration of the scholarship does not exceed the normal duration of the relevant programs.

Note:
1. Application for the scholarships will be considered only after the applicant has been admitted to HQU.
2. Applicants should be responsible for authenticity and completeness of the materials submitted. Incomplete or forged application materials will be rejected.

3. The notarized or certified highest degree diploma and academic transcripts. If graduation certificates and transcripts are not in Chinese or English, please attach authenticated Chinese or English translations.
4. Chinese language proficiency requirement:
There is no Chinese language proficiency requirement for one-academic-year Chinese language programs.
Applicants (except for Malaysian Sekolah Tinggi Persendirian Cina graduates) should reach HSK Level 5 to be qualified for the bachelor’s degree programs.
5. Recommendation Letter written in Chinese or English.
6. A Letter of Reference from Overseas Chinese Associations or Overseas Chinese Celebrity of the Home Country to certify that the applicants are ethnic Chinese (see APPENDIXE 3)
7. Study Plan: not less than 800 words
8. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (see APPENDIXE 4)
VII. Scholarship Assessment and Management
1. Applications for the scholarships will be evaluated on a competitive basis through an open, fair and impartial process. HQU will evaluate applicants in terms of their academic performance, language proficiency, research competence, letters of recommendation and overall merits, and submit the short-list of candidates to the Xiamen Tan Kah Kee Education Foundation for final evaluation. The final results will be published at https://zsc.hqu.edu.cn/ in July.
2. Admission Letters and Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW202) will be offered, with which students apply for study visa at the local Chinese Embassy and register at HQU on time. Students who fail to register on time will be regarded as giving up the offer. HQU will organize physical examination after registration. Only those who pass the physical examination will get admitted officially.
3. Applicants who have received other types of freshman scholarships will not be eligible for Tan Kah Kee Scholarship. Scholarship will be first applied to the deduction of tuition and accommodation fees, and the rest will be paid monthly as living allowance.
An annual assessment for the awardees will be conducted. Students who pass the annual assessment will continue to be granted the scholarship for the following year. Otherwise the qualifications will be canceled.
Generally speaking, the awardees cannot change their schools, majors, or extend study periods. In case the awardees have to change majors or schools, or extend the study periods, they should submit the application to Tan Kah Kee Education Foundation. Students who change their majors, schools, or extend study periods, drop out of the school, or suspend schooling without approval will be deprived of the scholarship.
