A tire concept that employs electrically articulated treading to respond to changing road conditions. Capable of changing into 4 modes. Mode 1: Dry Conditions, all tread elements are flush with outer carcass. Mode 2: Low Rolling Resistance, central tread element protrudes outside of tire carcass. Outer tread sets remain flush. Mode 3: Wet Conditions, central tread element and articulated tread sets are retracted inside tire carcass. Water is evacuated through the central tread recess. Mode 4: Snow Conditions, central tread element and articulated tread sets fully protrude from tire carcass.
