OCT当代艺术中心将于2006年4月28日至5月21日举办一场来自荷兰当代最富盛誉的设计大师Droog Design的展览——“人文触觉”荷兰Droog大师设计展。这是Droog Design首次在中国华南地区举办的大型展览，所有展品都是Droog Design旗下知名设计师精心设计的杰作。在为期近1个月的展期中，透过Droog Design的经典设计，与您共同拉进创意、艺术与生活之间的距离。
Droog Design——荷兰设计的标志与象征
在1993年米兰国际家具展上初绽头角的Droog Design，经过了10余年不懈的努力，如今已成为现代设计的大师级人物。Droog Design以一系列概念化的家具、生活用品设计冲击着当时精致奢侈和华丽夺目的流行风格，成为上世纪九十年代以来最具革命精神的一个设计组织，并让荷兰在世界设计版图上占据了重要的地位。Droog Design经常与世界各地最优秀、最具创意的设计师合作，共同进行其多元化的国际项目。
Droog在荷兰语中是“干燥”的意思，这表示Droog Design的设计是简单、清晰、没有虚饰的，其设计的重点永远是创意、简单直接地表达出清晰且新颖的概念，以及作品的实用性。Droog Design的设计非常特别但却容易被人理解和接受，它们与“人”非常亲近，在每一件作品背后都有着耐人寻味的故事，并能引发大家的争论。
Droog Design是兰尼•朗马克斯(Renny Ramakers) 和赫斯•贝克(Gijs Bakker)于1993年共同创立的。Droog Design的所有设计都着眼于作品背后的创作精神与意义，代表着一种理念、一种精神，及一种对生活的反省试验。在上海这个最新的国际时尚地标里，当人们的眼球被各式各样奢侈华丽的设计吸引之际，Droog Design的作品特别的发人深省，令观众耳目一新。
“人文触觉”荷兰Droog大师设计展
Droog Design的此次展览名为“人文触觉”，目的在于加强使用者与设计作品之间的互动关系。整个展览共有62套件展品，分为“互动”、“触感”、“简单”、“体验”、“不尽完美”、“熟悉”和“装饰”几大部分，其设计的特点是适合不同的场所、拆装简便、简单易行，使用者对设计作品拥有极强的自主操作性。
装置则是“人文触觉”展出的重要组成部分，参观者通过接触和移动与产品进行互动，从而Ji发对该设计产品的进一步探索与思考。装置由一组功能类似产品布景的物品构成，这些物品通常是一组家具，如桌子、橱柜、灯、椅子等等，它们一起构成了展示Droog 产品的或大型或小型的房间。在这些模拟的房间里，参观者可以重新发现自己日常使用的家具用品竟然都具备了一些特殊的功能，或者是由特殊的材料组成，或者就是变得更加奇妙有趣。
“人文触觉”荷兰Droog大师设计展是一次中荷两国里程碑式的文化交流活动。此次在OCT当代艺术中心的展览是中国区的第二站，在2006年内该展览还将在台北举办。其后，本展览将继续移师悉尼、墨尔本、奥克兰、下哈特、雅加达、北京、东京、首尔、圣保罗、里约热内卢和布宜诺斯艾利斯举行。 本次艺术展的深圳部分由中国对外艺术展览中心主办，OCT当代艺术中心、荷兰Droog设计基金会和上海比翼艺术发展有限公司承办。由名业商务咨询（上海）有限公司担任公关及推广顾问。同时，此次活动也得到了荷兰文化基金会，荷兰王国教育、文化、科学部，荷兰王国外交部及荷兰驻广州总领事馆的大力支持。
当代艺术的航空港——OCT当代艺术中心
自建立以来，OCT当代艺术中心通过举办一系列的展览、活动，逐步建构成一个既具有中国本土特色又具专业化、国际化水准的当代艺术机构。一方面整合海内外当代文化资源和进行多层面的艺术交流活动，另一方面将优秀的中国本土艺术家推向国际，推动中国当代艺术与国际接轨、互动为目标。
深圳作为80、90年代兴起的新型移民城市，城市文化正处于成长积累期，独特的特区窗口的地位，特殊的文化，特殊的背景，为设计艺术的发展提供了广阔的空间；同时也能够让深圳的设计师体验到国际高水平设计文化。
“人文触觉”荷兰Droog大师设计展将是深圳目前最具规模、最具影响力的国际性设计展，为设计文化架构一个与国际交流的平台，使深圳产品设计在这样的交流中走向世界，为深圳打造“设计之都”拓宽范围，将从不同角度阅读和理解产品设计；品尝设计盛宴、创意深圳；共同拉进创意、艺术与生活之间的距离。

1993 Droog Design is founded in Amsterdam by Gijs Bakker and Renny Ramakers. They organize an exhibition of 14 products during the Milan Furniture Fair.

Prix d’Excellence de la Maison, awarded by the French magazine Marie Claire.

DMD is acquired by The Product Matters, an Amsterdam-based company with which Droog agrees a manufacturing, marketing and distribution deal. Gijs Bakker and Renny Ramakers curate the Conran Foundation Collection 2002 at the Design Museum, London.

2004 Launch of the retrospective ‘Simply Droog. 10 + I years of creating innovation and discussion’ in Haus der Kunst in Munich. This touring exhibition travels to Bremen and The Hague. Publication of the book ‘Simply Droog’. Designs the coffee bar in the headquarters of the European Council in Brussels, commissioned in honour of the Dutch Presidency of the European Union in 2004. Launch of the first Droog Event, Open Borders, in Lille, France, in the realm of Lille Cultural Capital 2004 festivities. This event included a 2000m2 exhibition on new concepts in art, design and architecture, events and workshops in the exhibition space and the city and a collaboration with regional companies. The Droog gallery moves to a bigger space in Amsterdam.
