ENTREPRENEURIAL FUNDAMENTALS WORKSHOP
第二届创业基础研讨会由杜克大学创业指导项目组织举办，该课程由在市场、金融、初期运作等领域拥有丰富经验的连续创业企业家授课。
该课程为期一天，旨在鼓励潜在的创业企业家和在校本科生将创业框架应用到环境方向。授课者会就“环境究竟正在发生怎样的变化，又是如何影响世界前行的脚步？” “如何将其转化为可持续的，增值的机会？”等问题展开讨论。作为一流本科学位项目的一部分，这个架构又将如何影响学生在从事环境解决方案工作方面取得成功。
Entrepreneurial Fundamentals is the second workshop offered from the Venture Mentoring Program at Duke University. This entrepreneurship curriculum is developed and taught by successful, serial entrepreneurs with deep experience in marketing, finance and start-up operations.
This one-day version of the course is designed to inform and inspire prospective and current undergraduate students to apply an entrepreneurial framework to basic questions about the environment. Industry leaders and Duke faculty will approach questions like, “what is happening in the environment and how does this impact the world going forward?” as a core, entrepreneurial question of “How can this be translated into a sustainable, value-creating opportunity?” This framework can then influence how future students can succeed in pursuing environmental solutions as part of top-tier undergraduate degree programs.

课程目标

创业基础研讨会专注建立、发展和推出一个科技公司的基础和实际的方面，基于授课者第一手的创业经验进行教学。课程中，讲师还会向学员提供即刻可以应用到自己职业或者创业的案例和工具。
此次研讨会将详细阐明中国和达勒姆的大学环境是如何成为创新的孵化器，并且证明想法是如何一步步变得可行的。并且，在展示尼古拉斯学员的课程及师资力量的同时，必然会更加加深尼古拉斯学员与昆山杜克大学学生之间的联系。
This program is based on the instructors’ direct experience from past and present ventures, with a focus on fundamental and practical aspects of starting, growing and exiting a technology company. Participants will also learn from examples and tools provided by the instructor, which help them apply to their own career or entrepreneurial venture properly.
The proposed workshop will illustrate how university environments both in China and in Durham can be incubators for innovation, and demonstrating how ideas can become actionable. The workshop will also further connections between the Nicholas School and DKU students by showcasing Nicholas School curriculum and faculty.

Requirements and Prerequisites
此次研讨会面向想要学习如何启动事业的新企业家，以及想要在环境创新和创业领域选定学习课程或职业发展方向的本科在校生或预备本科生。
研讨会语言为英语，所以每位学员必须能够流利使用英语进行交流。
The workshop is designed for new entrepreneurs, those wanting to learn more about start-up activities, and current or future undergraduate students looking to further define a course of study or career in environmental innovation and entrepreneurship.
The workshop will be conducted in English. Therefore, each participant must be proficient in English communication.

Jesko von Windheim

Jesko von Windheim is a Professor of the Practice in Environmental Entrepreneurship at Duke University. Dr.von Windheim is a technology entrepreneur who is focused primarily on early-stage innovatios in the physical sciences. He was a co-founder of Cronos Integrated Microsystems, a microelectromechanical systems company (acquird by JDS Uniphase); he was CEO and founder of Nextreme Thermal Solutions, fabricator of the“world’s smallest refrigerator" (acquired by Laird Technologies); and he is currently CEO of Zenalux Biomedical (www.网址未加载) which uses light to monitor health outcomes and diagnose disease.
