2017 International Symposium: Transport and Urban Transformation in Contemporary China

此次学术研讨会缘起于国际出版社 Edward Elgar Publishing （EEP）旗下一系列有关当代中国发展变迁相关重要课题的研究指南丛书。

为了解当代中国研究发展的重要文献，其中针对中国交通与城市变迁的课题，邀请本书四位编者：西交利物浦大学城乡规划与设计系陈嘉琳助理教授，同济大学建筑与城市规划学院城市规划学系潘海啸教授，美国华盛顿大学城市设计与规划系沈青教授，以及香港大学地理系王缉宪教授进行策划筹组。

此次学术研讨会将为这本国际性学术著作提供难得的深入研讨交流机会，除邀集本书国内外作者群与会发表，各章幷安排与谈人深入讨论，同时也热诚欢迎关心与研究当代中国城市发展变迁有关领域的专家学者报名参加，发表意见交流讨论， 汇总与会专家学者精辟的观点与建议，回馈作为书籍内容修正参考幷发掘未来在相关领域的政策面、实务面及研究议题方向的可能性。

This symposium is a pivotal part of a handbook initiative which is commissioned by Edward Elgar Publisher as one of their popular HANDBOOKS OF RESEARCH ON CONTEMPORARY CHINA SERIES initiated by Professor David Goodman.

The handbook provisionally incorporates 25 chapters of four major themes that address transport and urban transformation in contemporary China.

This symposium offers a good opportunity of exchanging ideas of research findings among contributors.Moreover, the symposium is open to all participants who care and conduct research related to transformation in contemporary China to join the debates and discussions.
