关于上海纽约大学学生赴美签证的说明

Some students who have been admitted to the undergraduate program at NYU Shanghai, and some parents of admitted students, have expressed concerns about the current diplomatic tensions between China and the United States. In particular, they have asked whether, if their children enroll at NYU Shanghai, they might not be able to obtain visas to go to New York when it is time for them to “study away” from Shanghai.

有一些收到了上海纽约大学本科录取通知的学生以及学生家长对当前中美关系的紧张局势表示担忧。尤其担心一旦入读上海纽约大学，万一学生选择到纽约进行海外学习的时候被美国拒签怎么办？We reached out to the Consul General of the United States in Shanghai, and he indicated that the United States welcomes NYU Shanghai undergraduate students, no matter what their major field of study, to study in the United States. He indicated that our undergraduate students should expect an efficient visa application process and to be interviewed by an officer who knows our university, our programs, and the quality of our students.

校方就此事咨询了美国驻上海总领事。总领事表示美国欢迎上海纽约大学的本科生到美国学习，无论学生所学的是什么专业。他还表示，美领馆的签证官对上海纽约大学、上海纽约大学的本科项目，以及上海纽约大学的教育质量都有相当的了解，所以上海纽约大学的本科学生申请美国签证的过程一定会很顺利。If a group of prospective students and/or parents wish, we can arrange for someone from the American consulate in Shanghai to hold an information session.
