宁波诺丁汉大学2021年度国家自然科学基金立项创新高

近日，国家自然科学基金委公布了2021年度国家自然科学基金集中接受期项目评审结果。宁波诺丁汉大学共有10个项目获得资助，立项总数和青年科学基金立项数创新高。三大学院均有项目获得资助，研究领域涵盖广泛。

据悉，国家自然科学基金委员会本次公布获批项目数占其集中受理期申请总量的16.6%，宁波诺丁汉获批项目数则占全校集中受理期申请总量的20.4%，高出国家平均资助率约4个百分点。

近年来，宁波诺丁汉大学以“集全球智慧，解决地方难题”为己任，不断加强科学研究实力和服务地方的能力。在最新的基本科学指标数据库（ESI）报告中，宁波诺丁汉大学社会科学总论（一般社会科学）进入全球前1%，工程科学升至全球前0.5%。

今年5月，诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划（宁波）创新研究院入驻宁波国家高新区。围绕宁波市“246”产业体系，研究院聚焦智能制造、绿色化学与能源、生命健康三大重点领域，大力引进英国诺丁汉大学的科技创新与人才资源，建设一批高标准的实验室群，探索大学与城市深化国际合作的新模式。

教研相长。在强大科研实力的支撑下，宁诺工商管理、管理学和经济学三个学科上榜2021软科世界一流学科排名，为中外合作大学之最。宁诺另有23门课程刚刚新增为省级一流课程。

为增强学校的科研能力和实力，宁波诺丁汉大学于2021年初启动了一系列校级科研经费支持计划，以支持科研人员开展各种科研活动，包括国家、省级项目配套资助计划，项目启动种子基金计划，访问学者计划等。这些资助计划不仅有利于提高学术人员的研究能力和成果产出能力，也为他们获得外部竞争性研究经费提供了助力。

Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the results of applications made in its concentrated period of 2021. Ten projects submitted by UNNC were approved. Both the total amount of UNNC grants awarded and that of Young Scientist Fund marked a historical high.

The approved projects cover a wide range of research areas and involve all three faculties of UNNC. The success rate of UNNC applications reaches 20.4 %, approximately 4% higher than the national average success rate of NSFC applications in 2021.

With the intent of using global wisdom to solve local problems, the University continuously strengthened its capabilities of scientific research and serving local development. This year, the social sciences and engineering disciplines have risen to be ranked in the top 1% and 0.5% of Essential Science Indicators (ESI) global rankings respectively.

In May 2021, the Nottingham Ningbo China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute was established in Ningbo National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Centering on the “246” industrial cluster of Ningbo, the Institute focuses on intelligent manufacturing, green chemicals and energy, and life science and healthcare, introducing the scientific and technological innovation resources and talents of the University of Nottingham to build high-standard laboratories.

Supported by strong scientific research strength, three disciplines of UNNC are listed as the 2021 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects according to Shanghai Ranking, being the highest among Sino-foreign universities, along with 23 modules that have been newly recognised as Provincial Level “First Class” UG Modules.

To further enhance the research capabilities of the University, a series of university-level Research Excellence Funding Schemes were launched in early 2021 to support researchers to carry out various research activities, such as Matching Grant for Successful External Individual/Team Research, Seed Funding for Individual Research Project, and Funding for Conference Organising and Visiting Scholars. These funding programmes not only improve the capabilities of scientific research and the output of academic staff, but also promote their competitiveness for external research funding opportunities.
