11月29日下午,宁波诺丁汉大学李达三孵化园新址启用暨全球引才创业项目路演会举行。
宁波诺丁汉大学国际创新创业孵化园一期(李达三孵化园)成立于2017年9月。以“国际引才”为主题,经过近4年的发展,园区聚集了来自世界各地的百名创业者和股东,30多个精品项目在此阶段涌现。
随着新址启用,李达三孵化园将迎来新一阶段的发展。据宁波诺丁汉大学知识交流副主任何敏介绍,未来,李达三孵化园将充分发挥诺丁汉大学在全球人才和商业资源上的优势,立足于“创新创业教育”和“创业孵化与发展”两个重点,与各学院、学生事务与发展中心、产业界紧密合作,构建出一个从教育到孵化、再到加速的国际创新创业生态系统。
具体来说,“创新创业教育”将通过学生创新工作室、训练营等活动,激发全校学生的创新潜力、提升创业能力,为学生们提供系统性、跨学科的体验式创业教育。“创业孵化与发展” 则将通过海内外资源对接,聚焦创业孵化服务的升级,孕育更加多样化的创业项目,助推更多的团队走向更广阔的平台。
值得关注的是,此次新址启用仪式上,宁波诺丁汉大学、深圳科创学院、宁波智能技术研究院三方线上签约,将在多个领域展开合作,包括探索创业硕士项目、共建创新创业生态体系、联合培养未来创新型人才等等。
此前,创业教父李泽湘教授专门来访宁诺,就科创教育、创新创业人才联合培养等议题与校方进行深入沟通。深圳科创学院即由李泽湘发起。宁波智能技术研究院则是市政府与李泽湘团队共建的高水平创新平台。
现场,宁波诺丁汉大学科研与知识交流副校长周荫强致欢迎辞。他说,
“今天,李达三孵化园新址在宁诺国际创新创业大楼启用。作为宁诺的创新创业中心,孵化园将继续通过精准服务、国际资源整合,以独特的‘Glocal’(全球加本土)理念,助力初创企业顺利进驻中国市场,同时助推中国本土企业走向国际市场。”

孵化园捐赠人代表李本俊博士以视频方式致辞。他在讲话中感谢宁诺的支持,希望“李达三孵化园”能够培养出更多成功的企业家,将李达三先生“回馈社会”的精神传递下去。
成立4年,已有众多优质创业项目在孵化园的平台中孕育,并逐步走向国内乃至国际市场,如翼鲲飞盘、飓风电子等。企业负责人纷纷通过视频向宁波诺丁汉大学李达三孵化园新址启用送上祝福。来自全球各地的诺丁汉校友们也共同录制了视频,分享由宁诺启蒙的创新创业精神、表达对孵化园未来的美好祝愿。
9个国际团队还带来了他们创业项目路演。他们分别来自中国、英国、加拿大、美国、意大利、荷兰、新加坡和德国。项目所聚焦的领域涵盖了农业自动化、XR商业云、3D数据展示、智慧城市资源管理等。项目均立足可持续发展,同时兼备社会价值与商业价值。
UNNC Li Dak Sum Incubator launches in new space with global talent pitch
29 November: The Li Dak Sum Incubator launched in the brand-new Innovation and Enterprise Building on the campus of University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), along with the Global Entrepreneurial Talents Pitch.
The Li Dak Sum Incubator was originally launched in September 2017 and is the university’s central hub for innovation and entrepreneurship which serves students, staff, graduates, and partners both at home and abroad. Over the past 4 years, the Incubator has nurtured over 30 start-up companies focusing on various areas and has also been a home to over 100 entrepreneurships from around the world.
Min Rose, Deputy Director of Knowledge Exchange of UNNC, attended the event and introduced the development plan of the Incubator. She stated the fundamental goals of the Incubator would be to “develop and retain talent and elaborate and improve technological capabilities” based on the university’s advantageous global talent and business resources, focusing on “innovation entrepreneurship education” and “startup incubation and development”. With a focus on student engagement, the development plan will be delivered in partnership with the faculties, Department of Campus Life, Development and Alumni Relations Office and industry partners.
Specifically, the innovation entrepreneurship education will be carried out through student experiential innovation studios, bootcamps, and competitions to provide students with systematic, interdisciplinary experiential entrepreneurial training. The startup incubation and development will bridge international and local technologies and ideas and provide comprehensive incubation services to support the development of startup teams.
The event also featured a virtual Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony among UNNC, Shenzhen InnoX academy, and Ningbo TechX institute, where each party agreed to strengthen ties among the three institutions and promote further co-operations in the areas of entrepreneurship education as well as innovation ecosystem development, research, and knowledge exchange.
Professor Patrick Chau, Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange of UNNC, was in attendance of the event and delivered a welcome speech. He thanked staff and guests to witness the launch of Li Dak Sum Incubator new space and emphasised the uniqueness of the Incubator which he referred to as “Glocal” – global plus local. He said the Incubator “offers the local community with a truly global vision and network by bringing global ideas and technologies to China, and also taking local business to the global world” and stated that he looks forward to the Incubator’s “next phase of development”.
The Incubator was named after Hong-Kong based businessman Dr Li Dak Sum to commemorate his generous support towards UNNC and Ningbo. The launch event included a virtual message of congratulations from Dr Li Dak Sum’s grandson and Donor Representative Dr Kenneth Li, who thanked the university for its support and hoped the incubator can continue to be place where “many successful entrepreneurs would come out of” and “be influenced by Dr Li’s spirit of giving back to community”.
To further celebrate the launch of the Li Dak Sum Incubator’s new space, the event included a Global Entrepreneurial Talents Pitch which allowed the Incubator entrepreneurs to present their ideas and technology, as well as offer a space for innovators and creators to engage with each other across different industries and sectors along with the potential matching of investors with entrepreneurs. A total of nine international teams from Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, UK and US showcased their projects, covering a wide range of areas such as agricultural automation, 3D visualisation of data and smart city management.
