朱宣咸木刻版画创作经历了三个阶段:
第一阶段:1946年——1949年,
第二阶段:1950年——1979年,
第三阶段:1980年——1995年.
历经大半个世纪的艺术创作,朱宣咸走的是一条由革命斗士而到抒情诗人,由投枪匕首而到纯美艺术之路。而这点,又恰恰和20世纪我国艺术的发展之路同步;从这个角度去研究朱宣咸的作品,或许也正是其作品的时代价值之所在。

红岩村:是在抗日战争时期的1939年初,由中共中央南方局和八路军建立的驻重庆办事处所在地。
这幅创作于1961年的作品,表现了1949年新中国建立后,红岩村这个具有历史意义的地方在初夏时美丽的景色。
Zhu Xuanxian’s woodcut works experienced three stages:
The first stage: 1946-1949,
The second stage: 1950-1979,
The third stage: 1980-1995.
In the art career of more than half a century, Zhu Xuanxian experienced the road from a revolutionary soldier to a lyricist, and from the spear and dagger to the pure art. This is consistent with the development of Chinese art in the 20th century. Maybe the time value of his works lies in the study of them from this point of view.

Hongyan Village is the site of Chongqing Office of CPC in the period of Anti-Japanese War.
This painting, created in 1961, demonstrates the beautiful scenery in early summer of the historical resort—Hongyan after the foundation of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
