这是一所可以梦想成真的大学——周玉树院长在2016级开学典礼上的致辞

尊敬的马克先生、鸿德的全体教师、各位新生：

鸿德学院有个传统，开学典礼会请一位著名的主讲嘉宾。以前我院请过内蒙古自治区的省级领导、国外的大学校长、巴基斯坦的驻华大使、内蒙古上市公司的老板等著名的大佬大咖和Big potato。我觉得这些名人给大家作报告，是对鸿德学生的尊重和礼遇。今年，我给同学们请来的是英国足联的首席执行官，现任特兰米尔足球俱乐部的主席马克先生。几周前，内蒙古自治区政府白副主席去英国考察时，参观了利物浦足球队，前天白主席又亲自接见了马克先生及夫人等，希望把英国和欧洲的足球引到中国来，希望中国的足球事业兴旺发达起来，一会马克先生要给大家作主旨演讲。

我今天给各位同学讲述的观点是四个字“梦想成真”。人的理想是不断变化的。我上小学的时候，盲人给我算卦，我未来的命运是小学的民办教师；上中学后，别人都忙着考大学，我的奋斗目标也是考大学；进入大学后，特别希望毕业后有个好工作，我留校工作，心满意足；在大学工作几年后，成为学校最年轻的讲师，又在思考怎样把所学的专业知识运用到实践中，于是辞掉公职开创民办高等教育，我是白手起家开始办学的。1993年，我辞掉公职办学时，一无所有，但我有梦想，还有就是经过高等教育后所提高起来的能力以及观念。那时不是一无所有吗？没有房就租用房舍，没有师资就聘请师资，不会管理摸索前进。在23年办学过程中，历经苦难，愈挫愈勇。直到今天，一所现代化的大学已经初步完成。我们这所学校，建校过程中没有使用国家一分钱，全靠自力更生。所办的大学最终都是社会的、国家的，不属于个人，但办这所大学却圆了我的办学梦。所以，鸿德的校训是“我行，我能成功。”人的成功一方面是外在环境的影响，但更主要的是个体的转变。

各位同学，中国正处于几百年不遇的改革开放的上升发展期。中央确定了两个一百年的发展目标。在国家大发展、大提高的过程中，也给每个人提供了发展机遇。希望各位同学都奋发努力，将个人梦想同国家民族的梦想结合起来，创新创业，取得理想中的成功。

Respected Mr. Mark Palios, distinguished faculty and freshmen

In our college, it is traditional that a guest speaker will be invited to deliver a speech in every opening ceremony. In the past, we’ve invited provincial leaders in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, university presidents in other countries, Pakistan ambassador to China, presidents of listed companies in Inner Mongolia, and other big potatoes. We regard it asa respect and courtesy to the freshmen. This year, we are honored to have Mr. Mark Palios, the former CEO of FA and the chairman of Tranmere Rovers Football Club, England. Several weeks ago, Mr. Bai, the vice chairman of Inner Mongolia, flied to Britain and visited Liverpool Football Team. Two days ago, he met with Mr. MarkPalios and Mrs. Nicola Palios, hoping that we can learn something from Britain and Europe and make the football career better and more prosperous in China.Later Mr. Mark will give us a keynote speech.

Today, the topic of my speech is “Dreams will come true.” Dreams keep changing all the time.When I was a primary school student, a blind fortuneteller said that I would be a teacher in a private primary school in the future. Then in the middle school, all my fellow classmates were dreaming of a good university, so was I. Later, my dream was to get a decent job after graduation. Fortunately I made it happen by staying and working in my university. Several years later, as the youngest lecturerin Inner Mongolia, I started to think about how to put my major, Management of Higher Education, into practice. So I quit my job and started to work on the privatehigher education. At that time, I had nothing except my dream and the improved ability as well as the education philosophy out of the college education.We lacked of housing, teacher and experience of management. The progress lies in our efforts of exploration. These twenty-three years witnessed our tremendous determination, courage and achievement in spite of numerous hardship. Today, we are in a moderately modern university. We stand on our own feet throughoutthe construction with no use of national funds. This university belongs to the society and the country, andatthe same time, it makes my dream realized. Therefore, the school motto is “Believe in yourself—you can be successful.”External environment will have an impact onyour way tosuccess, but most importantly, it is yourself that really matters.

Dear students, now China is in the unprecedented rising stage after the reform and opening uppolicy. The central government has proposed a Two Century Goal. The national development offers all of us opportunities. I hope that all of you could make arduous efforts, combine your individual dream with the “Chinese Dream”, innovate, explore the entrepreneurship and be the winner in your life!

Finally,I sincerely hope you can keep my points in your mind: Honder is an university where you can make all your dreams come true!
