China Talks public lecture series
Tonight's China Talks public lecture will examine how China's social changes are affecting those living in its vast rural areas, and how changes within the country's different rural communities are affecting China's rapid transformation.

Today's speaker, Jonathan Unger is a professor in the Department of Political and Social Change at the Australian National University.
His academic career has taken him to universities and institutes in the UK, USA and the Netherlands as well as Australia. In addition to his research on rural China at ANU, his work has focussed on poverty alleviation projects in rural China on behalf of AusAid and the Asia Development Bank.
